Some people experience problems getting applications they have downloaded directly on their iPhones to appear within their applications tab in iTunes.

The solution for most is quite simple:

1. Make sure you have authorized your computer to use the iTunes store. From the top menu in iTunes, click Store -> Authorize computer.

2. Connect your iPhone to your computer and open iTunes.

3. Right click (PC) or Ctrl + click (Mac) on your iPhone in the left hand pane of iTunes and select "Transfer Purchases".

Each iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch has a Unique Device Identifier (UDID), which is a sequence of 40 letters and numbers which is specific to your device. It’s similar to a serial number but much harder to guess.It will look something like this: 4c5g0bb289w456eb4t2456788h4557897g442252.

Why do we need UDID Number? Your iPhone can only install programs that are approved by Apple. Apps in the iTunes App Store have been approved by Apple for general distribution, but beta customers can try the app before it’s publicly available. Developers will register your UDID with Apple, so that you can start using your application without releasing it first.

How do I find my UDID number?  There are two different ways:

1) You can copy/paste your UDID from iTunes or email it directly from your device by using a free app from the App Store. In order to do that:

a) Start iTunes and connect your iPhone/iPod Touch.

b) On your device's Summary page, click on the word "Serial Number:". Please note the serial number is not the same as the UDID.

c) After you click on the words "Serial Number:", it should change to the word "Identifier (UDID):" and the numbers and letters to the right will change from something like that: 83649KAD3NP to something like that: 4c5g0bb289w456eb4t2456788h4557897g442252. This long string of letters and numbers is your UDID number.

d) Press CTRL+C (Windows) or Command/AppleKey + C (Mac) and your UDID number will be copied to the clipboard, which can then be pasted into an e-mail 

2) Alternatively, install and run a free app Ad Hoc Helper. It will create an email with your UDID number. Just put your intended recipient's email address in the "TO" field and "Hey, Presto". 

Once you have created an app, submitted it to the App Store, it was then subsequently approved and you have now realized that you should have used a different name - unfortunately you cannot change the name of the app without resubmitting it to the App Store team for review. We had a similar problem and this is what we received from the good fellas at Apple (thank you Apple): 

Application names can only be edited in scenarios where your newly set app name will be reviewed by Apple.

These application review channels are as follows:

1) You are uploading a new binary for your application 

2) Your application has been rejected by Apple and is in the "Rejected" state in iTunes Connect (can be edited under Edit Information before replacing your binary) 

3) You have rejected your own application and it is in the"Developer Rejected" state in iTunes Connect (can be edited under Edit Information before replacing your binary)

If you are unable to edit your application name, it is because you are attempting to change your app name outside of the permitted scenarios listed above.

Changing the application name via iTunes Connect will affect your application name as it displays on the App Store only.

The app name that you enter in iTunes Connect may slightly differ from the app name a user will see after installing your app on their device. This is because the app name that appears on a user's device is determined by the app name provided in your binary and not by the name that you provide in iTunes Connect. The name provided in iTunes Connect will display on the App Store. These two app names must be consistent and as closely similar as possible.

If you need to change the application name that is tied to your application icon when it is downloaded to a device, you will need to edit this name in the binary of your application and send a binary update.

Regarding the character limit for the app name as it appears on the device, we recommend that you use no more than 12 characters to prevent possible truncation.

iPhone has a built-in screen grab/capture feature which allows you to effortlessly take a screenshot of any application you are currently using. Here is the simple 1-2-3 do-it-yourself guide.

1. Launch an application or navigate to a web page you'd like to take a screenshot of.

2. Press and hold the round "Home" button at the bottom of your iPhone and then press and release the silver "Sleep" button on the top of your iPhone.

3. Your screen should flash white and your image will be saved to your Camera Roll in the Photos app.

When trying to upload a new updated binary to iTunes Connect via Application Uploader, many people are getting this error message even though they have updated CFBundleVersion in their info.plist file to a higher value. Some have even already successfully submitted different apps updates using the same method, but for whatever reason some particular app won't work upload.
